ITW x Miller Center Sunrise Plunge
Hey worldly wildings!
Are you interested in a sunrise plunge AND learning about an incredible fellowship opportunity that is right under your Bronco nose?? Well then, join Jelly-fish Julia, Indo-Pacific-sailfish Izzy, and Marvelous Miller Center staff for a sunrise polar plunge in Santa Cruz, followed by an insightful fellowship informational chat over burritos and coffee on Tuesday Nov 11th. Julia and Izzy are part of the 20205 cohort of Miller Center for Global Impact Fellows and are here to enlighten you on an incredible experience and answer your burning questions.
Fellowship applications are open right now (and close January 26th), so it's a fantastic time to learn from previous fellows. For some context, through the Miller Center Lewis Family Fellowship, students learn and work with social entrepreneurs addressing poverty, women’s economic power, and climate resilience in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the United States. The fellowship is open to all students in their junior year, regardless of major. This fellowship is a fully funded opportunity comprising of 2 quarters of classes and 6-8 weeks of in-country work over the summer. (It's also the best way to get your ELSJ credit!)
For more information, check out Miller Center’s website:
https://millercenterglobal.org/fellowship/.
Although applications are only open to current juniors, we encourage freshmen and sophomores to join us too because you will be eligible to apply before you know it!
We’ll depart from the Bronco Statue @5:45am on Tuesday Nov 11th to catch the sunrise and return in time for 10:20am classes with bellies full and futures bright!
Tickets are $5. And bring cash for coffee and/or burritos if you want :)
Please reach out with any questions!
