Aloha Lake Backpacking

Aloha, Wildings! 🌺 Want to swap campus for granite peaks and alpine lakes? Hula Harry, Exotic Ellie, and Lūʻau Leanna are taking you to Lake Aloha in Desolation Wilderness for an overnight backpacking trip. Yes, we know the names are a lot. We're committing to the bit.

Saturday: We meet at the Bronco Statue at 6:00 AM and leave at 6:15. Yes, that's early. Yes, it's worth it. We'll eat a big breakfast at Echo Lakes, then hit the trail for 7 miles and 2,000 ft of climbing to camp. We'll stop for snacks and water, stare at mountains, and keep a steady group pace, so nobody gets left behind. At camp, we'll set up, eat a hot Peak Refuel dinner, and hang out under the stars with good vibes and good food.

Sunday: Wake up around 7 or 8 for a real breakfast, pack up camp, and hike the 7 miles back. We'll have snacks the whole way, and we'll stop for dinner on the drive home to celebrate surviving.

Heads up: This is an intermediate trip. You'll carry a loaded pack for 7 miles each day over uneven terrain, so don't show up in Converse. Bring supportive hiking shoes, trail snacks, water, and a good attitude.

Cost: $70, which covers transportation, food, permits, and group expenses.
